As part of the Nursing Now three-year global campaign to improve health by raising the profile and status of nursing worldwide, Nursing Now USA will be launched on April 9, 2019 at the National Press Club with live streaming of the event.

All are invited to watch the livestream from 11 a.m. to 12 noon PDT pm at facebook.com/nursingnow2020.

The global Nursing Now Initiative was launched in February 2018 and is run in collaboration with the International Council of Nurses and the World Health Organization. The initiative is focused on raising the profile and status of nurses worldwide. It’s based on the Triple Impact report that concluded that increasing the number of nurses and developing the nursing workforce will improve health, promote gender equality, and support economic growth.

Nursing Now USA is being led by the American Nurses Association, University of Washington School of Nursing and University of North Carolina School of Nursing.

As part of the launch activities for Nursing Now in Washington state, the UW School of Nursing hosted Baroness Mary Watkins of Tavistock, who is the alternate chair of the global Nursing Now initiative and a British professor of nursing. During her visit, the Baroness went on site visits to community partners who are having a positive impact on providing access to quality health care and delivered the Soule lecture at the UW.

WSNA is excited to be supporting this important initiative.
